We are traveling with small children and the last time we flew they had problems with their ears plugging. Is there something that we can put in their ears to avoid this uncomfortable situation? Any tip or trick is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Stacy

I have heard that chewing buble gum will help. It should help relase the pressure slowly.

Hi Stacy,
The 'old fashioned' way was to suck boiled sweets. Some airlines still do this. If not, buy some in the airport on your way in.:)

Tania is here to save the day. ur children are suffering immense pain on these flights and jus like them i have suffered and after 17 years of being in pain I have finally found the solution and it actually works, not like those silly old wives tales such as sucking on boiled sweets, yawning and chewing gum. What you should do is ask the flight attendants for two plastic cups which have a warm, moist towel, tissue or cloth between them and have these set of cups on each ear before take off and descent especially when descending you should make sure ur children do not remove these cups until the cabin doors have been opened as the pressure from inside the plane wil be released. I hope this works for ur kids and then for once they can stop worrying about the pain. xx
