Any suggestions for a solo female mid 20's traveler this December?

I have the month of December off and want to make the most of it.

I'm from the US and have traveled through central europe a few times. December options that have come to mind include Croatia, Slovenia, Poland, Hungry, Morocco, South Africa, Australia, new zealand, Argentina, Chili.

I haven't had a chance to actually figure out what specifically I would do/see, but I'd like to visit both a mix of urban and rural. I enjoy getting off the beaten path and the outdoors. I'd would like to get in as much hiking, biking and/or skiing as possible.

Suggestions of any type welcome :)

Thanks!

December is the best time to go to Egypt.

Morocco has lots of mountains which can make travelling in winter unpleasant (snow and cold, rainy weather).

Other good options for a December holiday are Germany, Austria and Switzerland for the Christmas markets and skiing, but with the dollar so low you might want to look in another direction.

BTW, if you really like outdoors look into Turkey. Turkey's best kept secret is possibly that you can ski there and then take a bus to the southeast and go mountain biking or hiking just a day later.

One word of warning when it comes to muslim countries: Eid el-Adha will be in December (just a few days before Christmas), which can be pretty disruptive as shops close down and all the locals travel to visit family and friends, sometimes from as far as the US or Europe. Since Christmas and thus European and US school holidays are at the same time, flights will likely be booked solid.

New Zealand would be cool if you like pretty scenery (think LOTR) and activities like bungee jumping, paragliding, hot-air ballooning, sky-diving, jet-skiing etc. There's a balance of both urban and countryside on both islands. Plus it'll be summer and temperatures are just nice since it's rather down south.
