Travel Forums Asia Thailand/Malaysia/Singapore in 6 weeks? Help!!

Hi, I have booked my flights with STA, fly into bangkok and gave myself 6 weeks to make it to singapore where i fly to australia.

Need advice on how to spend my time etc.

The one problem is, I fly into bangkok on the 18th jan and out of singapore on the 29th feb.

Although i wanted to attend the full moon party on ko phagnan on the 22nd feb (only just checked the date!)

That wud only leave 7 days to make it down from k.p to singapore through malaysia, see everything i want to and catch my flight.

Is this realistic, or do u think I should see some of malaysia and then backtrack for the full moon party!?

Please help.

The ideas for my itinerary were:

Bangkok
Pattaya!????
Chiang Mai/Chiang Rai
Kanchanaburi
Ayathaya
Khao Sok national park

Ko Tao - 4 day diving course
Ko Samui
Ko Phagnan - FMP on 22nd Feb

Phuket????
Ko Phi Phi

Malaysia
(Need advice)

Singapore
(3 days!?)

Also, do you think trains would be best for me to travel on, get to see countryside!?

Cheers

Train to see countryside? Maybe you should take the day time train. Not at night. You will not see anything at night. Well, I dont think that there is any day time train except for KL - Singapore route.

Malaysia: National Park(Taman Negara), Malacca, Batu Caves, KL Tower, Twin Towers, Eye On Malaysia, National Monument, Penang(Penang Hill, Kek Lok Si Temple), Kellie's Castle, Pangkor Island, Langkawi Island.

The east coast islands are still in Monsoon Season at that time.

For Singapore, you can try Orchard Rd, Bugis Street, Merlion Park, Raffles Place, Esplanade, Clarke Quay, Jurong Bird Park, Singapore Night Safari, Geylang (FOR FOOD) & Lau Pa Sat.

How about dumping pattaya and possibly phuket.

Spending 2 weeks up north, then head down to ko tao (4 days diving) and ko samui, then across to ko phi phi.

Then do northern parts of malaysia, head back up to ko phagnan for full moon party (few days before).

Then got a week to make it back down though southern malaysia, then do singapore and fly out!?

Any opinions?

Definitely skip Pattaya, you are gonna find everything in Phuket and much more...

Plan whatever way you want, and book budget airline flight to FMP in advance... its really cheap and your rest of the itenaray does not get effected because of FMP... even flights like Singapore - Bangkok costs like 100SGD one way...

thats wat id have done ... ;)

Cheers & Have safe trip

Try FireFly. They fly from Malaysia to Ko Samui. Its a new budget airline after AirAsia here.
