This thread is marked as being about India

hi there!
i very much hope someone can shed a little light on this - we are arriving in mumbai on monday and have not been able to book a place to stay! does any one have any recommendations - we're aiming at around 80-100 euros max per night in a good area for chilling out adjusting to our surroundings :)

is it mostly phone or email bookings?

and any tips on prices to the city from mumbai airport would be gratefully received!

many thanks :)

i guess yur bookings are sorted!!

a lil tip...most airports n railway stations have a "pre paid" taxi service (at least in delhi)
these r run by the police. once u tell em your destination they tell u how much it would cost
pay up n they give u a receipt, which u give to the taxi driver ONLY when u reach yur destination.
The cops also take down yur detail n the taxi drivers details....
hence its more safe n u sure u not being ripped off.
Safe travel

As maneck mentioned about prepaid taxi..just wanna that Mumbai airport also run similar service. I agree with the point that its better to hire these taxi's rather then getting fooled by personal taxi operators.

Enjoy your trip.

Pl go through the Government of India's site, INCREDIBLEINDIA.COM and look for can also request for help for accomodation at the Airport on arrival.

It costs around Rs 250 to reach Nariman Point by Taxi from the Airport and anywhere else
would be cheaper. Prepaid taxis at the Airport are safe but expensive.
