Hi,

I am currently in Kuala Lumpar and looking forward to heading North
through Malaysia into southern Thailand.

I have heard due to the time of year, it may be best to avoid the East Coast Islands,
due to the weather conditions, could someone please clarify if this is correct.

I was also hoping to Visit Koh Tao and Samui, however also have concerns over
what the weather will be like, over the next week or 2.

Alternatively I could travel up the west coast, eventually reching Phuket or Phi Phi.

Any advise on the best route for this time of year would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Paul

Yes, it is the best to avoid East Coast Islands during Monsoon Season.

But if you like surfing, i recommend you Tioman. And if you would like to stay on the Perhentian during Monsoon, there

is a chalet which operates through out the Season. But nothing much you can do on Perhentian during Monsoon.

I thought it was supposed to be ok now? I was there last Sept/Oct and it was quite rainy, but check the current forecasts, it should be fine by Nov.

Actually the monsoon in the east coast of west malaysia starts in october to march or roughly about that time. November would be a bad time.
