GregW has indicated that this thread is about Trinidad and Tobago

Okay, so short notice vacation forced upon me by work in 2 weeks. Looking around for a place to go and ended up booking a flight for 7 days in Trinidad and Tobago - flying into Port of Spain. It'll be in two weeks (November), so I know weather might be an issue, but sometimes you gotta gamble.

I know this is a very vague question, but what would people suggest doing there? I like city life, colonial architecture, nature (something that I could do for a day hike), wouldn't mind a day or two on a beach (assuming no hurricanes) and if there are any ancient civilization ruins or anything, that would be cool too.

Umm, like I said, 7 days. How much time to spend in Port of Spain? Is it worth, with such a short amount of time, going over to Tobago, or should I concentrate on Trinidad?

Thanks,
Greg

POS is an undistinguished place-not all that interesting or well laid out-a few hours walking around and you'll see what I mean.

As to "city life"-there is none of note, ditto "colonial architecture" and "ruins".

Snorkeling, fishing, birding, diving if you're into that, head to Charlotteville on Tobago for a quiet vacation with Curtis.

Thanks Sam. That's matching up with the research I've been doing on line as well.

What about accomodation? Is it easy to find budget places to stay?

Budget accommodation is tough can't remember the name of the place I stayed in it was cheap but a taxi ride into POS was a fortune.

I suggest staying somewhere near the airport and learn the busses into town.
