Montreal or D.C.?

Travel Forums North America Montreal or D.C.?

I'm going to New York for the first time to check out this school I'm interested in. I'm also making a trip out to Boston, gotta see it. But I've also been interested in Montreal for awhile. I hear it's just one of the coolest cities in the world. But then I also remembered I've always wanted to see D.C., cause I heard it's a cool city with a hip music scene.
I'm staying out there for a week ....... so what do you think? Montreal or D.C. ..... or just NYC and Boston?
Thanks everyone,

For a week, I think you'd actually find just NY and Boston to be enough. There is so much to see in New York City, that you will not find yourself bored (though you may get sick of the crowds).

If you really wanted to squeeze in another city, I'd say this about the two cities. Montreal has a better nightlife and urban, European and laidback scene. Washington is one of the prettiest cities I have ever been in, it's like the entire thing is one, gianatic monument. Washington's nightlife, while still decent, is nothing compared to Montreal. Montreal is, though, very different than either New York or Boston, so it makes the larger constrast than Washington would.

Thank you so much! They both offer a different thing, that's actually why it's so much harder to choose between the two. Our nations capitol, or one of the coolest cities on earth? I know I'm gonna wanna spend some time in New York, and I hope I soak enough in to know what it's really like in 4 days.
Thanks so much again,

i understand your's the only bad thing about travelling....not knowing which city to pick when you are so close to both!

that's why i'm seriously considering a RTW trip!

montreal is definitely on my list...i have been to DC and have no regrets! they have really great museums as's hard to say...i hope you can make the right choice. i'm sure either way, you won't be disappointed!
