I was wondering if anyone has gone on a safari with a company that you would really recommend. I am looking for low to mid budget companies and was hoping for about a max of 2000 for a 7 day ish safari. (Mt Kili, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater etc...)

What can a person expect to pay for a camping safari vs a lodge safari (per day averages?)

Thanks a ton!

Have a look at Base Camp Tanzania. I haven't travelled with them yet, but may be next year. I know the owners and they are fantastic people. I'm sure Achmed will be very helpful!

Cheers,
kellie

In principle Tanzania safari are expensive compared to Kenya and Uganda. The pricing depends with how many people you will be travelling. I found it to be a bit difficult for a single traveler to meet her/his expectations in a safari especially when to be joined with a different group, you can be sold to different companies!

There is a big price difference between a camping and a lodge safari in Tanzania, more than USD 100 per day!.

There are many Tour Companies to choose from, some based in Arusha, Base camp is reputable, Leopard tours and Good Earth. There is also Tour Companies based in nairobi who does Tanzania as well and their prices are reasonable Like The Eriksen Adventure and Game Trackers.
