Need some advice from expeirenced Thailand travellers...

I would like to travel from BKK to Hua Hin, what is the best form of transport and how long should it take?

Also, after Hua Hin I want to get over to Koh Tao, so what is the best form of transport to Surat Thani to get the ferry?

The original plan was the overnight train from BKK to Surat Thani, but Ove decided to take in Hua Hin en route? Can I still board this train at Hua Hin to travel to Surat Thani?

Help realy appreciated, thanks guys

You can travel by bus or train, bus is quicker, from bangkok to Hua hin, you can then continue by train or bus going south.
if you are going to koh Tao you do not have to go all the way south to Surat Thani !
Take the bus or train to Chumphon ( bus about 4 hours ) and from Chumphon you can take the fast boat to Koh tao, about 1 hour 30 minutes.
Instead of doing that all on your own there are 2 bus/ferry combinations per day from Hua hin to koh tao that includes the bus and ferry ( a fast boat really, quite large, air conditioned, it's a jet-catamaran sort of ship ), that is operated by 'Lomprayah' and goes twice a day from Hua hin town center to Koh Tao, so one ticket all the way, Lomprayah has an office in Hua hin ( the express bus originates in Bangkok but stops to collect the Hua hin passengers ).
You can beach hop south from Hua hin through Pranburi and Dolphin Bay and see the sam Roi Yot National Park, then Bang Saphan and Baan krut have quiret beaches but plenty of places to stay, these are between Hua Hin and Chumphon.
