I have NGO friends that help orphans and poor families in Phnom Penh Cambodia. They can always use another pair of hands, no fees involved. Send me a PM if that sounds like something you might want to do.

I have friends here working for Red Cross, Care and local organization in Nepal. Or you could even get into a exchange program or volunteer sort of thing with a educational centre as well. As there are schools in remote areas, where they hardly have people to get it running.

Anyways, you could consider Nepal. I guess.

Happy Travelling!

check out www.goabroad.com

there are tons of programs, though mostly fee based (though I have heard paying a fee isn't all bad)

it's also useful to learn to differentiate between organisations that masquerade as providing voluntary work but in reality provide an overpriced "get with the natives" experience, against genuine organisations who charge only to cover administration costs. less than £200 charge per project is reasonable (obviously excluding the cost of you getting to a project) unless the project is taking place somewhere unusually remote or is for an exceptionally long time, if cost is much more than this i would closely examine what your money is actually being spent on. try ivs and una exchange for starters.

Hi,
There are lots of schools in Indonesia that would welcome you with open arms to help in English classes.
I have a friend in Muara Labuh in West Sumatra 4 hrs by bus from Padang and you woulod be most welcome there to help out and at the same time enjoy the hospitality of the locals and even get to learn some Indonesian.
There is another guy near Lake Toba North Sumatra that would love your help.
And if yuo get to Java, there is an area between Bogor and Bandung namely Cipanas and Cianjur where any of the schools there would love your help with English.
Send me a Private Message if yuo would like some contact no. and email addresses.
Pamela- (lover of Indonesia-where I travelled alone for 5.5 months last year- my 7th trip since 1997.)
