i have heard that there have been changes to the thai visa situation,i would like to know if you still get a free thirty day visa on arrival in thailand providing you have a return flight ticket out of the country within the thirty days.
i would be grateful if some one could let me know.
Yes, the 30-day social visit pass issued upon arrival is still available for passport holders of selected countries. Just make sure you have an onward flight ticket to show the immigration officer. Check out the Thai Visa FAQ thread for more info.
Yes you can still get 30 days on arrival. Called a VOA= visa on arrival. If you leave Thailand and re-enter you are given another 30days. The new rules now put a cap on how many days you may stay in Thailand using VOA's a total of 90 in a 180 day period is the max allowed.
If you overstay by 2 days it will be a fine of 1000 Baht with every additional day being 500 baht . 1 day late gets no penalty.
AND the prievious post is correct , If your using a VOA make sure you have a onward ticket when you arrive.
