I've been tucked in in bed with flu for a few days so haven't got to see any fireworks, but it got me to thinking about a few spectacular fireworks displays I've seen around the world - end of the Edinburgh festival with the waterfall type fireworks cascading over the castle walls probably tops it, commercial square bonfire in Lewes last year 2nd.
What's the best display you've ever seen?
I would prefer to write critics and comments to other photographers rather than watching fireworks.
I noticed few kids using different types of fireworks around the streets near by.
Some people love to construct something from their money and other loves to burn money in few seconds for it's noise and colors!
When I was about seven my dad got fireworks to set off in the back garden at new years. He somehow managed to point one of them upside down. It was great.
Around new years eve anyone in Iceland can buy fireworks so on the actual day everyone goes crazy and the whole sky lights up with thousands of fireworks. It is an amazing sight and I would really recommend you try and see it some time.
I found this pic to try and explain it. It wasn't taken by me.
That looks pretty cool Angela. Anyone can buy fireworks here but the kids just use them to shoot at each other. One was shot into the Botany Gate building at Glasgow University a few years ago and a terrible fire ensued. They lost priceless stuff. An entire collection of Charles Darwin's original manuscripts was destroyed.
Sydney Harbour, New Year's Eve 2004 - awesome!
