Travel Forums Africa and The Middle East CHEAP ACCOMODATION IN MOROCCO

BUBBLEWRAP has indicated that this thread is about Morocco

I am visiting Morocco in Mid November with my boyfriend and as we are travelling aroun for almost 3 weeks, need to keep the costs down in term of accomodation.

I have been told Morocco is cheap for accomodation, but have seen no evidence of this yet.

Double rooms are charged per person for a start, and are about the same price as accomodation in a British B&B.

Anyone got any tips?

I am hoping there will be plenty of cheap places out there that do not appear on the net / websites

Hi

You will find places starting from 30 dirhams per night (about 3 euros), about cheap places, usually start from 100 dirhams per a double room in main cities/places.

You said you find no evidence, but you did not told about where you have been searching for.

Regards,

Aitor

I'd agree with the former reply : there are accommodations for different budgets in Morocco. tyhsy start at 50 dh ( brather shabby) and go up to. you would not want to know. In Marrakech where I live you can stay for 150 dh on b&b basis for 2. let me know if you need names

Morocco can be super cheap!; Get yourself the Lonely Planet Guideto Morocco, has all listings of some great budget options; I stayed in Hotel CTM Marrakech for 160 Dirham for a couple, run down, but great for one or two nights in Marrakech as s right on the Medina with an amazing view from the top balcony!; Otherwise the general rule of thumb is the further south you head the cheaper it gets; if your looking for an awesome quiet place in an amazing town; get to the town of Sidi Ifni 4 hours south of Agadir; Tourist free, loads of beaches and awesome people; stay at hotel Suerta Loca for 160 per night for a couple; well run; perfect balconyl; on the beach; plus there is sweet surf!! Bring your own gear though; or Tarhazoute 20minutes north by Taxi from Agadir; isperfect for a 2 week stay of Beach and surf! Cute little apartments over look perfect beaches, a beautiful small surf town vibe; no need to book ahead n November, just arrive at Tarhazoute by Taxi; and you will be offered a range of apartments overlooking the ocean ranging from 10 to 20 euros a night for two people; will include shower, kitchen, tv and balcony; a sweet place; easily my favourite to relax;
ENjoy!!!

essaouira is cool too...good hotel right across road from bus station,the palace, 200 dirham and immaculate,marrakech has a bevy of good places that are 200 dirham or less and include breakfast,some with enough to stash for lunch....
