I really need some help with getting a working holiday Visa.

I had one on my UK passport in 2004 and stupidly didnt get any work with it, wasted.

Luckily (well I thought it was lucky) I can get get dual nationality and have an Irish Passport also. I've heard of people getting a working visa on each passport when they've had dual nationality. So i applied for my Irish passport and it's now sat here infront of me.
I've just tried applying for a working Holiday visa for Australia and it wont let me as I've already had one on another passport!! Crap!

I really need to get this sorted as i'm going with hardly any money and plan on renting a place in melbourne for a while, saving money up then moving on.

Does anyone know of any loopholes I could go through in applying for one? I didnt work on the last visa I had so would that help? I fly to australia on November 27th so it's pretty urgent now.

If anyone could help me out I'd really appreciate it.

I don't suppose there is any chance you have an Irish name.....I've heard people getting around the problem by getting their Irish passports in Gaelic

Otherwise - I honestly don't know, you might be able to get cash in hand work but it's really badly paid and very dodgy. Maybe you could jump over to NZ on a WHV and work there for a while to get some cash

Is the address on ure Irish passport the same as the one u had on ure last passport (the 1 u had the WHV on)? If so, only thing I can think of is using a diff address and gettin a new irish passport wi the new addy on it pronto.

let me know how u get on as am thinkin of doin the same thing myself. good luck

Thanks for those Ideas.
Has anyone done it this way before? I'm not sure if my surname would translate into Gaelic or not, it;s not your usual irish surname.
Do you think it'd cost me to get an address or name change on the passport?

it'd prob cost u the price of a new passport at the very most but it'd be worth it
