Hi Folks!

Me and my partner will be spending 2 weeks in Thailand over the Christmas and New year period.

We start off with a few nights in Bangkok, then we fly over to Ko Samui for 6 nights. From there we are heading up to Hua Hin where we will spend the remainder of our holiday before flying back home.

We've got all our flights and accommodation arranged and booked, however, we want to travel from Ko Samui to Hua Hin using the ferry and train. This will be our first time in Thailand and we are struggling to book/find tickets for the journey that we want.

I wanted to have these sorted before we go because I'm aware of the fact that 'Christmas' is a really busy period!!

- Could any one share any advice or experiences with me???
- Has any one out there used the train service during this busy period, do the trains get quickly booked up??
- Do we need to try and get these tickets in advance, or will we easily get them whilst we are over there??

I am grateful to anyone that can help :)

Melanie,
You have 6 days on Koh Samui before your train trip to Hua Hin. Once you arrive, get yourself into a travel shop and book your train back to Hua Hin. Any of the travel shops on Samui can handle this for you. Have a great trip.

And if by any chance the trains are booked up, there are plenty of private bus companies that pass Hua Hin on the way to Bangkok and do a drop in Hua Hin. You do arrive in the middle of the night, but I was dropped right by a hotel. Train is nicer though.
