I love traveling. One of my dream place is Norway, going north to see the Northern Light. I'm thinking of the possibility to go there on March 2008. I really want to go. But on the other hand, it's pricey!!! What should i do? Go or wait until next year???

This year I've spent around 5400 euro to travel (hokkaido, Tokyo, Kyoto and sydney and melbourne), now i only left 2500 euro in my saving account :(:( If i really decide to go to see the northern light, my saving account will be ZERO!!! Is it worth?? Or should i save more money and wait until next next year, March 2009......?

If u were in my situation, what would u do? Go to see the northern light on March 2008, but u would use all ur saving? Or u would save more extra money but wait for one more year........??

Well, personally I would go, but then I'm hopeless at saving....

i get the impression your a good saver - i.e you get your wages each month and you work out a budget in which you survive with some treats but still have some money left for better things ... or are these your life savings that have taken years to mount up?

if its the latar then i would wait another year - the Northern Light isnt going anywhere - plus its allways nice to have a little emergency money in the bank - even when living @ 'home'

If you wait that bit longer and build up your savings you'll be able to make more of your trip - ie. instead of just going to Norway to see the Northern Lights you'll be able to add other things into your trip :)

Hello Ristinw:)

I am in a similiar situation as u are.
I only have 900 Euros left.
Before I book anymore trips, I think I will save up 2000 Euros, to give myself more choices.

hey ristinw,
- my advice- for whatever it is worth ( a tin of sardines ? ) is- save some more money and do some research/planning for your Norway/Northern lights voyage. Consider that you quite recently travelled to Japan & Aus. take some time to languish in the aftermath of that trip. :)

You should work and save enough money for your trip. It's never fun to travel if you are concerned about your finances.

If you only want to see the Northern Lights, there are other and cheaper places to do this than in Norway. Russia and Finnland come to my mind as well as Island. While Island is just as expensive as Norway flights to Island can be very cheap in winter. Canada is also an option.
