Don't skip Palawan - especially if you scuba dive.

Davao and Surigao del Norte's worth the visit too. I've yet to go there, but I heard those places are amazing.

:D

Just a quick question about the Philippines, IS 21 days long enough to stay and see a good part of the country - or will 21 days only allow me to see about 3-5 of the islands and some of northern manila?

thanx B

There are over 7100 islands in the philippines so in 21 days you wont really see the whole country, but its stil a good amount of time to see some parts. I would stick to a certain islands group for example the Visayers and see as much of that as possible, including Negros Occidental/Oriental, Iloilo, Cebu, Bohol and Guimaras. That little group should keep you busy for 3 weeks!

The last I heard, Surigao del Norte's good too (I've never been there yet). Seems that there are white sandy beaches, enchanting rock formations and mysterious caves. And the waves are strong that this place became the surfing capital. It's located at the northeastern part of Mindanao though.

Personally, I'd like to go there.

Come to Kalibo and visit Ati Atihani festival in January. And when you look for Budget accomodation at Boracay I recommend Ocean Breeze Inn or Bora Bora Inn at Boracay or other small resorts around Station 3 area !

Have a safe trip and enjoy your holiday !!

if you're on for a weekend treat, go to coron palawan. it is at the northern part of palawan.

you can take a vessel leaving manila at 5 pm via superferry, you will get there to coron palawan by 6am.
you will take the same vessel going back to manila and be back by monday noon time

spend the weekend island hopping, mountain climbing, scuba diving...
want more water? they have lakes, beaches and hot springs!
trying watching the travel asia channel - the place was once featured there, might catch the re-runs

you can get a package for Php8000 for a weekend, inclusive of food, accommodation, boat rides, tourist guide, fare

been there twice and its really worth it!
cheers!

Quoting sivarmn

Hi bwiiian,
Thanks for the info... I checked for Sipalay and it seems far from manila... Im not sure whether ill get to see that as I get only two days weekend off... and that too not sure... any suggestion on places nearby Manila would be helpful.

Thanks...

Just near Manila?

Tagaytay for the Taal Lake. There is a very good place to eat there called RSM. (you get to eat in nipa huts while looking at the lake)
Anilao, Batangas for scuba diving...or just swimming!
Calamba, Laguna for hot spring pools if you're into those things...

Puerta Galera is ok...though it's in another island already but it's somewhat near Manila...

frosty's suggestion is good...bleuken's too. Capiz is a bit like Boracay only with less tourists...

I'll post more if I remember some more...

Hi!

The easy-access areas are:
1. Batangas beaches (Laiya, Nasugbu, Anilao for diving)
2. Mindoro (Puerto Galera, Apo Reef, Pandan Island)
3. Corregidor
4. Subic

If you'll be on a regular 9-5pm job in your 6-month stay here, you might be able to work out Friday evening flights out and late Sunday or early Monday flights in to visit the other must-see places. The most popular ones are:
1. Boracay
2. Bohol
3. Siargao
4. Negros
5. Cebu - Bantayan, Malapascua

I'll be happy to help you out with details. Just holler if you have more questions! :)
