Watched Red Cliff. Not bad, fight scenes were pretty good, but it's like an RPG writ large, and I don't really appreciate the modernisation of the dialogue.

Once again reinforces my opinion that Takeshi Kaneshiro cannot act.

I watched Hostel 2 the other night. What a let down after Hostel . . .

Borrowed season 6 of Family Guy from a friend. Watched the first disc over the last two days. It's a long weekend here. I'm not coming out till Tuesday. OK I'm going down south for the weekend but tonight and tomorrow will be Family Guy time.

I watched The Dark Knight. Disappointing and over-hyped.

Nope, not just you, Heather, but it seems we're in a minority. I post at another forum where the majority who saw it loved it to death, said it was the best movie ever, etc etc. I just thought it was all over the place, trying to fit two villains in a half-baked story and characterisation was really poor. And I really didn't understand the fascination with Heath Ledger's performance.

I've managed to see quite a few films recently which I'm very pleased about! Here's my opinion on a few of them:

The Bucket List (like Heather said earlier in the thread) was a nice feel good film and about travel, so always good to jump up and down and say 'been there!'

Definitely Maybe really nice, non-conventional love story, Ryan Reynolds first 'serious' role, he was very good and it was such a sweet film!

Golden Compass...soooooooooooooooo disappointed with this. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING? the girl that played Lyra was so obnoxious and they ended the story too soon. I so wish I hadn't watched it

American Gangster was good but so, so long, about 2.5 hours...does the ending imply that Russell Crowe's character was bought off, that's the only bit I didn't get! Anyone else seen it?

Rendition was very good also but Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium (or whatever it was called), Dustin Hoffman came across as a bit of a kiddie fiddler it was a bit of a weird one.

I couldn't sleep last night so I got up and watched Drunken Master, which had been gathering dust on my DVD shelf since I bought it. It was one of Jackie Chan's earlier movies and it was your stereotypical 1970s Hong Kong Chinese martial arts flick - fantastic!!! One of the best movies I've seen in ages.

That's a great one by Jackie Chan! Wow... the last time I watched that one was at least 15-20 years ago. Gotta watch it again sometime, soon. Now, if only I could find a copy...

I got it on special offer in ASDA just a couple of weeks ago. Your local might still have copies.

Failing that, PM me your mailing address and you can borrow it from me!
