Hi guys,

sorry for being a pain, but for some reason I canĀ“t get some photos to load.

No idea why not but keep getting the 413 error if I retry to load them (have renamed them etc.)
Have uploaded other photos and they work fine.
Will try and resize them tonight to see if this helps, Have also tried the single photo loader and get a HTTP Error sayng the file is too large (each photo is over 4meg)

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Taffski

I'm not 100% sure what the 413 error stands for, but it most likely is due to the file size if the photos are over 4meg. Could you resize them down and try again? I'll also have that error code checked just to be sure (and to replace with a slightly friendlier and more helpful error message :) ). The filename shouldn't cause any probs, provided it is a jpg/png or gif file you are uploading.

An error 413 is a server error because meaning "Request Entity Too Large", so yeah, it is because of the 4mb file. I'm a little surprised that either of the upload forms kicks up an error at that size though - it would seem relatively reasonable to upload a 4mb file.

Short term solution would be to resize that photo somewhat before uploading (not a bad idea anyway for speed's sake).

Medium/longer term, I'll see what we can do about it on our end.

Hi Peter,
I can only make one upload in bulk, when I start for the next I get the message
Error on page.:(
also if I type the location Ecuador I get the info no location Ecuador found, do you mean Ecuador?:(

"Error on Page"? What does this error message look like.. Is it still within the Travellerspoint frame?

I should have a fix up for the Ecuador problem in not too long, in the process solving a few other problems as well.

Ok Marlis, I don't know what the "Error on Page" is due to, but the Ecuador thing should be fixed now.

Also, the uploader will now check your EXIF data and pre-populate some fields for you if it can. Mainly the date field benefits from this. The title will also default to the file name now.

Hey Marlis, would it be possible to get a screenshot?

Is the error shown on a page with all the Travellerspoint navigation and everything there as well?

yes it is the normal page,
I click the bulk upload,it opens up the site, but instead of done it shows this error on page.the page for the upload shows.
I will make a photo and upload it in a few moments
