Hi,
I hope to go to Peru in Feb of this year and do the Inca Trail or a similar trek.. Can I get some advice regarding whether to book in advance or if there is another trek that isnt as busy but as worthwhile.

Also - is Feb a bad time to do it?

Thanks !

If you want to do the actual inca trail, book well in advance (months), if your happy with another hike to get there, you can wait until you arrive in cusco. There are more tour operators than you can poke a stick at, and I had a big stick!!

I've heard that some of the alternate treks can be even more beautiful than the inca trail itself.

It is not posible to hike the Inca trail on February dure of Maintenance, it is rainy seaon and it is recommendable not to trek during that period.

Isuggest you to change your holidays to January or February

Good luck

Does anyone know of the other trails or companies they liked for the hike? My friends and I are going and this would be our first hiking trip like this. We are going Dec. 07 and would really like some guidance!

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

just posted on the other Inca trail thread as we´ll be in Cusco in a weeks time. I´ll check out all the details etc. while we´re there (as we´re not sure what we´re doing at the moment) and will try and post a definitive guide to the whole thing some time in the next 2 weeks.

Hopefully this might help

Hope you can wait that long.

Taffski
