hi im gonna be in Tahiti for 3 days in december and i desperately need good advice on a very cheap but safe-suitable place to stay for this time as its my last stopover before getting back to my home country new zealand but im almost completely broke!!! . i would prefer it to be in a good location ie: by or near the beach. ive heard from many people that tahiti is unbelieveable expensive but surely there are some backpacker places or something like this also!??
so people ideas????!!
also if you have any advice about what to do and where to go that i can get the most out of these 3 days without breaking my budget i would really appreciate it!! im gonna be travelling by myself!
Tahiti, lucky you! It is an expensive destination though I'm afraid, and therefore has little in the backpacker-budget range. There are some budget motels around the airport/Papeete however that offer dorm accommodation, so you might like to look into those, do a search on the net
In 3 days, you could catch a ferry to Moorea (not expensive), then go to Moorea Camping or Chez Nelson (both close to eachother), as you can find cheap rooms there, even dorms... Cook for yourself and chill out on the beautiful beach that is just in front of the place! Hitch-Hike to see a bit of the island too as it's my favourite one! That's a cheap way of discovering a little bit of French Polynesia... Enjoy!
