Whilst I'm in Australia I would like to keep in contact with my parents and friends. I was wondering if the internet cafes in Oz have MSN messenger or something similar so I can hold a conversation. Also, do internet cafes have web cam?:):)

Pretty sure MSN messenger is standard issue in Australian internet cafes these days :)

There will surely be internet cafes with webcam, but maybe not all of them. Not as sure on that one...

Cheers,

Sam

If the internet cafe does not offer MSN messenger, then lycos offer a service, whereby you can enter your msn details (i.e. username and password) then your msn account can be accessed....also no software needs to be installed

have a look @ http://messenger.lycos.co.uk/messenger/

Jo,

There's a web version of MSN Messenger now on beta testing. You can use that if the internet cafe does not have MSN Messenger installed.

And by using that the people that make it have your login and password!

I'm staying well clear of that!

Tom,

Don't worry about the people who made it having your password. Those people are also those who made the MSN Messenger you're using. If they really wanted to have your password, they could have taken it from MSN Messenger as well.

Passport and MSN, they are all under Microsoft, and they already have your username and password anyway. Just make sure you have different passwords for different sites.

Cheers,
Hien

hey ppls, uummm yeh, i just happened to come across this site... its pretty cool! im from australia, so i thought id contribute here... in any town (well pretty much!) therell be an internet cafe (if u cant find one, check out the local/public library or the "information centre" coz theyll at least have something.
(im going by what my town in oz is like and seriously.... its a hole.. and its got NOTHING in it... but its library DOES have public internet access! so yeh... if katherines got it... anywhere does)
so yeh... about msn messenger, well all the actual internet cafes ive been to in aus have had msn msg... but time differences might suck...remember... aus is ahead of europe... (here in switzerland we are 7 and 1/2 hours behind aus)
about the web cam... possible, in a really good cafe, but ud more than likely have to pay extra, plus ive never actually used one in a cafel... so yeh.... hope this was helpful ....! anyone got any tips for europe or switzerland? or should i go to the "europe forum" thingy/place for that? anywayz... bye
