I haven't stayed at Ceasars Palace but I imagine it to be like any other hotel in Vegas. Decent rooms and relatively cheap. You might get lucky and get a nice upgrade like we did a few years ago. Still not sure why the MGM chose to put us in the penthouse suite for 3 nights!! :) As a casino it's nice enough of course, but you get kind of jaded after a while in Vegas from all the glitter and jingles everywhere.

Penthouse suite for 3 nights..?.... how did you swing that one...?
we went to vegas in 1996 so i'm quite excited to seen how much its changed in 12 years.

I still really don't know. We got off the plane, walked into the MGM where I had booked the stay for 3 nights in two cheap rooms. There were 6 of us, male and mid twenties, so certainly not high rollers and right off the bat the girl at the counter says "I've got some exciting news for you". There wasn't a catch. In fact, you get all kinds of great free food in the hall ways up on those floors (you need a special key card to get up to those floors) so we really had a grand ol' time :) I uploaded some pics over here (watch out, there's one of me with my shirt off so if you don't fancy hairy chests in a jacuzzi, don't look!). This was early 2004 by the way. I'm sure it's changed quite a bit since then, but it will have really changed if your last trip was in '96!

Caesars has been entirely remodeled since 2004--primarily to enlarge to three primary showrooms--one for Celine Dion (soon to be replaced by another act), one for Elton John when he's in town--and then the third for an act that changes on a week-to-week basis. It still has the largest indoor shopping center in Vegas with what appears to be an open-air roof (but isn't)--and it's at one of the two corners where all the traffic is (the other being down where the four megaresorts are (NY-NY, Tropicana, MGM, and Excalibur).

Caesars is about as central as you can get for the Las Vegas strip--which makes it a great place to walk up and down the strip--or you can just stay there and enjoy the entirely self-sufficient in every way resort. I spent my first honeymoon here years ago (the one from my first marriage, that is)--so my wife naturally prefers that we stay elsewhere when we are in Las Vegas--but I'd have to say that along with the Wynn, the Venetian, the Mandalay Bay, Paris Las Vegas, the Bellagio, and the Mirage, that Caesars Palace fills out the final list of the megaresorts. (There are, of course, lots of other great places--like the Hard Rock or the Luxor or the Planet Hollywood or the Treasure Island--but I'd say the list of 7 already give are the top ones at this point. That will change when the next 4 megaresorts are finished between now and 2012 (one will be called Encore, and one will be called Fountainbleau, and the other two are still unnamed at this point)

Enjoy

Crazy at Ceasers Palace with the Pussy Cat Dolls dancing in cages. Just outside the nightclub "Pure" are two girls dancing while people are playen Black Jack. Tables started at $25 and are few. Of course, good looking young girls are dealing cards. Girls dancing must be also doing the nightclub. Why? Because the first two girls dancing were not the two when I walked out. Well the line into "Pure" was short from what a regular said. But any line to me is to long. I called these dancers girls. But I'm sure it's 21 to 25 years olds' in the cage grinden like they got it. 2 wild 4 me!

Just to show everybody how Las Vegas keeps growing
(and putting up the fancy places), here's a list of the new places
that went up last year or that are going up within the next two years:

the new Wynn Resort was completed (1.2 billion)

the new Palazzo Las Vegas opens later this month (January) (1.6 billion)

The first of the two Trump Towers is now complete,(600 million for the one tower,
estimated 1.4 billion for both)

The biggest project of all is the CityCenter (originally estimated at $5 billion,
now estimated to cost 7.4 billion--but its condos, not a hotel)

the $3 billion Cosmopolitan opens later this year or early next year

the 2.1 billion Encore opens next year (2009)

and the most expensive hotel of them all, the 4.4 billion Echelon broke ground 6
months ago and is expected to be completed in 2010.

Strangely enough, this last hotel is expected to be smaller (but more upscale) than
all of the mega-resorts--see the article for more details.

Hope you enjoy yourselves if you go to Las Vegas

Enjoy the central location. Easy walking around the area attractions.

Caesars is great 'cause you're right in the middle of the strip. Don't know about the rooms much but the location is great! you're next to all the great clubs and bars. Have fun!

[ Edit: Sorry, no promos please... ]
