Hey all,

Im wondering how much surfing lessons in a camp would cost if you just show up versus booking online (charge over 100$/day). Surf alot on the Pacific Coast in Costa Rica. Panama not sure, but probably too. Hmm what about scuba diving? Has anyone done it? Do they have PADI certification in Panama/Costa Rica?

Cheers guys

I can't help you with surfing, but PADI certification is available in both Costa Rica and Panama. Here is the link for the PADI "pick a country" page. It won't let me link the individual pages for Costa Rica and Panama but I've looked at them both. Both countries have several dive centers with the phone numbers and "e-mail us" links. Some also have website links. Contact them for availability and pricing.

PADI - Pick A Country

Hope this helps! Enjoy the training - it's amazing!!!

You are very welcome!!! Diving is our favorite thing. We don't get to go as often as we'd like, but it's worth the time and money. I hope you decide to do the training!

Isa, the PADI "pick a country" page is indeed a great advice for all avid divers. Thanks!!!
Getting a bit carried away daydreaming about a possible diving trip I checked out the site and
unfortuanately every time I want to look up a country I get no results, but a pop-up saying 'server request timed out'.
Does that happen to anyone else, or is it my computer just telling me I should not procrastinate ?

for surfing I could help you out with this surfcamp:
www.surf-guatemala.com

as you can see it is not in panama or costa rica
but it is close anyway! just take a bus...
the camp is very nice and you really feel like a local
they rent boards and some local surfer guys will give you the lessons (nice and funny guys)
these guys surf every day and are in the national team of guatemala now!

allthough I have to say you have to think of the 'manana manana' atmosphere,
so getting the lessons and really learn surfing fast can take some time... it is a good camp to learn surfing (and cheap!)

it depends on yourself :)
check it out!
