Hi all

my dads giving me £800 for my 20th birthday and his airmiles, so ive got free flights to bangkok for me and my fiance. i was meant to go backpacking round SEA with my mate in sept, i had to cancel due to personal circumstances however my friend went anyway and is loving it, her emails are making me regretful.
My fiance wants to see Bangkok and i want to snorkal, chill on a stunning beach and sample some local foods and attractions. Due to work comitments we can only go for around 10 days. I want somewhere with the marine life of Phi Phi and the scenery, but without all the tourists and partying.

any one who has been id love to hear your thoughts, not gona be on a tight budget however at the same time i dont want to end up in a swanky hotel if you get me.

Thanks

Kylie

Kylie,
Why do you take a look at Koh Jum and Koh Lanta? Just off the Krabi coast and much less visited and much cheaper.
Try here & here Good Luck.

hey man iv just done all the east islands and west islands.
koh toa is on eof if not the biggest diving snorkling island, it is next to koh phanang which uv prob heard hosts the famous full moon partys, koh phi phi was my fav cause u have the peace and the stunning island tours to koh phi phi lae don ( where the beach was filmed)
i didint really enjoy bangkok, mainly i thought it was just a big drity city but then i didnt seemuch of it.
my advice is to head to some of the less known islands maybe on the west coast, youll find good snorkling and diving pretty much anywhere.

Thanks for the advice, we might end up touring a few of the islands. is it easy once you get there to travel between the islands? and any idea of costs?

Cheers Kylie
