We're a couple looking for a quiet sailing trip around the Whitsundays but wanting to avoid rowdy drunkeness and lots of noise! Just wondering if anyone can recommend a company/boat which will give us what we want?
Thanks for any responses,
Emma and Jonny
Girlfriend and I sailed (2 day, 2 night) on the Pride of Airlee back in August.
It was a good mix of a few couples, and a few groups of lads and lasses. 3 different groups from Ireland which made for a good trip!!
To be honest its all down to luck who you end up with.
The trip was good and you sleep on South Molle Island resort rather than on the boat. (Though in dorms rahter than in the posh hotel - though you do get to use the hotel facilities - pool, hot tub, pitch and put golf...)
All in all it was a good trip.
My boyfriend and I were looking for a similar thing back in April. When we talked to the tour companies it looked a bit doubtful. The trips were too expensive for us, and a double room seemed to constitue the end bed of the dorm with a curtain around it. There are loads of companies tho and we only looked at a few, so I'm sure there are lots of options, we were just put off by the prices and the party atmosphere - we were looking for something a bit more romantic! In the end we did a day trip on a boat to Whitehaven Beach and to see Hills Inlet. We then had a night on LongIsland and treated ourselves to a hotel. It was a nice break from hostels and campgrounds, plus it was a joy to have 3 meals prepared for us!
Hope this helps,
