We are arriving in Asutralia this coming 12 dec, for 6 days arriving at Sydney. Any ideas. Three teenagers. Maybe surfing? Ideas please

Yes, I think you must surf if you come to Australia and like the water!

6 days doesn't give you heaps of time, so you should probably just stay in/near Sydney, or perhaps go to the Gold Coast for a couple days which is also a very popular tourist destination (beach right by the city/theme parks/etc.).

Nonetheless good beaches should be plentiful in both areas (I'm from Melbourne so I can't give you heaps of names, Bondi beach I think is most popular in Sydney). A lot of people also rave about Byron Bay, near Sydney, so you might want to research this one too.

Aside from surfing, Sydney also has the Opera House and harbour bridge that is popular and you might want to check out. You may also want to see native Australian wildlife like kangaroos and koalas (I'm sure somewhere near Sydney has this!), depending if your family is into this type of thing.

You're going at a good time as school is just about to finish for the year so it shouldn't be as busy, but nice weather!

Have 2 teenagers myself & live in sydney. They tend to go to beaches all the time ie Manly which is classiefied north & has lots of things for them to do. Bondi is also really nice. Forget Byron Bay as it is too far north with your limited time. If hiring a car, try going south Coast (Wollongong Kiama Gerringong), scenery is beautiful & you will get genuine appreciation of coastline (all takes approx 1.30 hours). Will chat to kids tomorrow (out enjoying night life) & maybe come up with other suitable suggetions. Either way, Im sure you will enjoy!

the sydney harbour bridge climb would be a fun thing to do as a family.
the coast to coast walk between bondi and coogee is a lovely way to spend a few hours.
a good day trip is the blue mountains which are beautiful, and i think on some organised tours there is the opportunity to stop at a wildlife park and see some koalas.
Sydney zoo and the aquarium are also worthwhile.
