I have a few questions about travelling from Stansted Airport to London city. I will fly to London from Germany Frankfurt Hahn using Ryanair. How much time should I allocate for checking out from plane, collecting luggage, etc? Is it necessary to book a coach ticket from the airport to London earlier? I am worried that my flight might delay. And I have found out the cheapest coach should be the Terravision. Has anyone here used that coach before, or is there any cheaper option somemore? Again, is a earlier booking necessary? Thank you for your help & advice.
don't worry! There're several coaches going from Stansted to London (at least 4 every hour) - no need to book ahead, just follow the signs out to the busstop; 10 pounds for a single, 15 a return, and the journey takes a little less then 2 hours.
Have a nice stay!
The clearance time at Stansted is the same as at all airports 30 minutes up to 1 hour from leaving the aircraft to being at the airport exit.
This doesn't usually affect the connections with coaches, the departure times are linked to the passengers coming out from cutoms clearance .
You can book and prepay for a ticket, the booking form is for the ticket not for a seat on the coach - the form asks for your flight information to help them calculate how many passengers will be travelling with them, you can use the ticket at anytime.
No need to book... when you clear customs etc, just follow the signs to the coach bays, and look out for a booking office which has a National Express desk to the right, and a Terravision desk to the left. National Express is £10 to London Victoria, and more regular than Terravision which is £7.50 or £8.50 but more direct and quicker (to London Victoria). If you want to go to North London, you will be better with National Express, but the people in the office will be able to answer all your queries. If the office is closed, the bus drivers will be able to help.
Don't worry, the buses are regular and the people are helpful!
