So I am planning my grand trip around the world next summer (Ireland to Japan), and I am beginning to figure out where it is that I will be staying. A few of the countries on the trip are no problem, but France is one where I don't have a place to stay per se. What are the recommendations for lodging (low budget preferably)?
"france" is a pretty broad term. maybe choose some areas?
we stayed at a hotel in strasbourg for 34 euros, heres the details:
Hotel Atelys - 2* - Strasbourg
7, Rue de la Gare aux Marchandis
AWESOME breakfast, a little out of the city centre but for the price its great.
We stayed at Home Moderne in Paris. If you're two it comes out cheaper than a bed in a dorm - about 40 Euro a night. Nothing fancy, but it's clean and a 10-minute walk to the Metro (where we always picked up pastries and coffee along the way!).
I've also found reasonable hotels in Caen and Marseille if you need help with those places.
Enjoy your trip!
France has lower cost hotels than many countries.
The chain hotels have varying prices with different brands offering varying facilities. Accor group are one of the biggest in France.
F1 is one of the cheapest at around at €28 - €34 per night.
Many of the small private hotels (3000+) are represented by Logis de France, who operate a group booking service, and many offer low prices.
