I was like, what the hell! is this a joke. and sole from Denmark, who the hell is that?

Poor old Sole. She was actually a mod on here for at least a couple of years (fairly sure the the first non Daams one, and only non Daams one until another sadly long departed one, the legend that was IMonaghan) and was active back in the good old days.

  • *sigh's**. It's just not the same these days.

She gradually dropped away because she was just far too busy. No idea when she officially stopped being a Mod, but she still very occassionally comes by with a query.

This thing is from way back when I only had 3 grey hairs.

Now I'm just happily blonde-ish.

  • Sigh...* The good ol' days.

As far as I know, Sole had stopped being a mod even before I joined in February 2004. Admins aside, there was no mod at that time for a few months until IMonaghan was appointed one sometime in June/July 2004. But then, IMonaghan went missing in action for a few months and then returned for a while (less than a month) before he disappeared again. It was in between this time that I got 100 posts and became a travel guru and a moderator shorty after that (September 2005). It wasn't easy to get a hundred posts back in those days! Ten posts to become a Full Member, 50 a Respected Member, and 100 for a Travel Guru.

Off-topic was not really active until the joining of the new wave of regulars like samsara2, pardus, lil j, areinstein, cupcake, Isadora, tway, summer910, FionaNZ, mtlchica, mtlgal, lovelee, remarcable, Brendan, daveh, jared, raven, MattXIII, beerman, WeeJoe, Arancia, Cikusang, steff, Q, and evakan, who all swarmed the OT like a herd of mad cows from the beginning of 2005. Although many have left because of busy schedules, there are equally many hardcores remained in TP (you know who you are! ).

Not forgetting the daily lunch bunch in TP chat where we broke record after record the number of members in it. I still remember the highest was 21, and it was virtually impossible to chat with so many people typing at the same time and the messages kept scrolling up almost non-stop! I know a certain member *CoughPardusCough* who got addicted to the chat so much that he spent 8 hours in it in one single session! TP chat continued to be very active for months, until somebody *CoughIsadoraCough* found a new use of her crowbar in July/August 2005.

And then there's The TP Novel started by areinstein which eventually expanded to almost 20 pages long! It was really a great story. There's even a sequel to it.

And the rest, as they said it, is history.

Ah... the good ol' days.

Yup - my Intro is still in my head. I was planning to post when I hit 10,000 (that decision being made at about 9984) but one more martini passed my way and one more brain cell passed away - so hence - I forgot.

Well Hieny - I'd be careful who you decide to visit after that remark. I think there are stables with your name on it in several different countries... How do you fell about sheep? They make lovely roommates.
