I'll be taking a trip with my buddies to Scandinavia from Dec 29 to Jan 13. We will be visiting Copenhagen, Stockholm,
Gålå Norway for snowboarding, and finally Oslo. I was wondering if a two day visit to Tromsø is worth a the extra time and money. I can spare the last two days of the trip to fly up there. Like the rest of Norway, its very expensive. The round trip flights are USD $200 and for two nights in a hotel is another USD $250. Is a visit to this polar city worth it in the heart of winter? Thank you in advance!
Hi! Im from norway and feel I should be hounest - tromso is an amazing town and it probably will be worth it, it is on the other hand very expensive so its up to you guys. People I know has had the time of their life up there, a lot of partying and other travellers, quite extreme at times but amaaazing.
You'll be coming in Norways prime time of winter, some people say its too cold, I say they're weak. Nothing beats this, if there's one country you first should see at winter time, make it this town. It sounded very expensive but hey - when your first freezing your nads of in sweden and copenhagen, why not do it with a snowboard, quality (it gets quite luxurious at that price tag) chicks and an amazing scenery in tromso. it'll be worth it.

Having been twice in Tromso, I would definitely suggest you to visit it, if you can afford it. Though I was there during the midnight sun-season, so I have no personal experiences about the arctic nights, but I heard that there are many places to catch the sight of the arctic light!
It has the world's northernmost brewery and apart from that many fine bars.
