Every year I buy a live Christmas tree in a pot hoping to plant it outside when the thaw comes.
Well they keep dying before I get a chance to plant them outside.
Would anyone have any tips about keeping it alive?

Well yeah, I water them.
They still die.

Of course giving water is not enough.
Most of Christmas tree that sold in the market does not have the enough roots to keep going, unless you get a very young one. Then not only you need to water it but also you need to care about it and even give your love to it in order it grows for several years.

I would suggest talking to the florist and doing research on Bonsai. Essentially that's what you have, a small potted tree. Be aware that keeping a tree indoors is very difficult. Why not plant the tree outside rightaway then decorate it ?

Thanks guys:)
I dont hold out much hope for this tree surviving either.
I have been told by many people that it wont survive for long in the house.
I like having a Christmas tree in the house for a couple of months. It makes me feel cheerful.
At least it will make compost for the garden if it dies. I usually chop them up into little pieces and feed them to the garden when they die.

I know what u mean about giving it lots of love to make it grow Kombizz.
It works on my boyfriend, but he is not too pleased that it is widthways he is growing.;)
