Hi All,
I am looking to learn french in an extensive language course for about two months. has anyone done this before and have any recommondations? I am hoping to stay at a home stay and planning to stay as far from the cities as possible. the country side would be perfect.
your advise is much appreciated.

Hi!

I can advise of a really good program in French language that is ruled by the University of Grenoble (near the Alps).

Cuef (centre universitaire d'études françaises) is the name of the department organising the courses (of all levels) in the same University of Grenoble. They are really efficient. The person I dealed with is called Basma (woman). I took a summer course last summer, in July, just for two weeks, but I really had a great experience. Everybody I knew there was delighted avec the results and how they were treated all over they stay.

I don't know if they rule any courses during the winter time, but you can check out their website:

Plus, Grenoble is a great city, small enough and big enough, with lots of students, but I think that it gets quite cold in winter. The Alps are just in front of you, and if you like hiking and skiing, this is the place to be. The Cote d'Azur is just 2 hours away by car, and Paris 4 hours away on the train I think. The place is just great!!!!!

Hope it helps!
Yolanda

and... I forgot!
If you like the country side, no problem... They can arrange for you to stay at a home with a host family, and you can be as much in the country side as you want, although you would need a car to attend to the course... Anyway, contact them, that would be the best option!!!!!!!!
