FIJI and Thailand Monsoon Season. What is it like?

Travel Forums Asia FIJI and Thailand Monsoon Season. What is it like?

Hi, I've booked an around the world ticket with my girlfriend. We leave on the 28th Jan going to LA for 10 days and then to Fiji for three weeks, followed by 6 weeks in NZ, 6 weeks in OZ, 9 weeks travelling through malaysia and thailand and finally three weeks in sri Lanka.

I've recently found out that this is the monsoon season when we are in Fiji and Thailand. Are Fiji and Thailand still enjoyable at this time of the year or is it better to cancel the flights and head East - West so that we avoid the monsoons.

All information will be greatly appreciated

Thailand is in an area where it's actually hit by different monsoons in different regions at different times of year. You can easily avoid most of the extreme weather if you plan well.

There is no monsoon in Fiji-more like heavy overnight rain, clearing, short afternoon rains and then cooler evenings.
