So I am planning a trip to Thailand and recently figured out that the majority of flights out of Seattle stop in Tokyo. Is there any way I can prolong a layover and spend a couple days in Tokyo before continuing on to Bangkok? I'd love it if I didn't have to buy multiple plane tickets. Any info on this or anything about my itinerary is much appreciated.
Most tickets will let you stop off for an extended time on such a route for no extra charge, but there are some which do not, and an extended stop may incur a cost on some tickets. the only way to be sure is to check with the tour operator if you plan on booking through one, or if not the airline. Tokyo is definitely worth a stop!
Most airlines will let stop and then continue onto your next destination without purchasing multiple tickets. I've done that before and i know that JAL an airline that will let you do it for sure. I always fly JAL.
