Visit to the Pyrenees

Hello….
Following my first message here are a few more questions..

1. I’m trying to find a good, quiet hiking base for December/January in the Parc Volcànic de la Garrotxa. I’m finding it very hard to choose a place/village and find good cheap accommodation. Can anyone help please?

2. I would like to spend a couple of days up in the mountains, and I was thinking of Pardines or Campelles, would that be a good choice? Is it possible to hike in December/January around these villages? And, of course can anyone please suggest accommodation there.

Thanks a million!

KP

If you are looking for a quiet little beautiful town, which I'm not sure about, you should check Santa Pau. It's not far from the park and its beautiful.

Regarding the Campelles and Pardines thing... I don't think snow will reach these towns, they are not very very high, so you shopuld be okay, but bear in mind the possibility exists. Are you planning to go anywhere in aprticular from there?
Setcases could be another option, going up to the Vallter ski resort and all that, but you should be more specific on what you wanna do perhaps.
Ribes de Freser is a bigger town, they could provide u cheaper accomodation I guess.
