Hi Tim,

Well, though I dont know if it is the cheapest way but are you sure you want to cross the middle east in train. Not just the situation there but also there aren't many international trains between iran and iraq presently.

Flight is one good way. You can go around in 10$ flights in Europe, say till greece. Then you can take a job on ship to India and that should be pretty cheap and hassle free (do greeks sail to India BTW??). Or if you really have lot of time, you can start sailing from portugal itself. After all Vasco Da Gama did it even when there was no Suez Canal.

Cheers

HI tim,
Not very sure of the answer. But my guess is if you can reach Pakistan, you can board a train from there to India. There is a train called "Samjhouta Exprees"( Wonder if its still running). It might be cheaper in the train but it would be full of adventures(risky ones too). Better take a flight.

Oh!! you need to know that. Actually the flights start from 0.99 cents. So have luck. You will need to sit on the internet with your credit card at the first second booking start

The website is www.ryanair.com

enjoy

.. but before cursing me on any bad situation you might fall into, please note that the airlines is able to offer these rates for "NO SERVICES" at all

(there is a character that I can't post in this forum. It is the tilde, ASCII code 126. Replace it for MISSINGCHARACTER to see the webpage)

for the worst that can happen to you. I do find most of it reasonable for you since you should sincerely have enough money at all times, very less baggage (if you are coming to india and not spending much time during travel you need not bring heavy luggage, you can buy most of the things in India at cheap prices) and huge amount of time (to save money again)

Please tell me as to what you are looking for in your India trip and people here will be able to help you more

Your idea sounds damn romantic and interesting so please keep us posted

Nitesh
