My brother Asher Green has been missing in Peru since Nov. 3rd. In his last email on the evening of the 3rd from the town of Chivay (near Arequipa) he said he’s leaving the next day to trek in Colca Canyon for approximately a week. We haven’t heard from him since. Police expeditions into the canyon and large scale investigations have given us no trace of him. Two members of the family are at the canyon at the moment conducting more searches. If you saw him or have any advice or help to offer please contact us immediately.

Description: He is around 175 cm tall, well built - a bit chubby, green eyes, short light brown hair. He has a big scar on his right cheek. He is traveling with an American passport, as well as an Israeli one. He speaks fluent American English and Hebrew, some Spanish.

Hi Hannah,

I am very sorry that your brother is missing. I do hope the search for him is successful and he is safe and sound.

In accordance with the Forum Rule #5, personal contact information can not be posted in the open forum and it has been removed from the above post. This is just a protection of your personal privacy. I understand your situation and any member who may have information about your brother can contact you through the TP Message Center. You can pass along your e-mail address and phone number using that system. I do recommend having the system notify you through your regular e-mail account when a personal message through TP has been sent to you. That can be done from your TP message center.

Also, I linked the photographs of your brother so members can just click on the link rather than copy/paste the URL.

Again, I do hope your family will be reunited soon.

Hi Hannah,

we go to Arequipa tonight so we'll see what we can do to help out. Maybe put some posters up in the hostels etc.

I did notice that your brother was on the Peruvian News the other day and his picture was all over most of the media so hopefully someone will find him safe and sound.

If there's anything we can do for you while we're there, drop me a line (No problems what so ever)

Hi guys,

just thought I´d update the thread with what we´ve heard and seen down here in Arequipa.

The search still contnues and the dissapearance of Asher is still in the news (albeit not the top story unfortunately).

There are posters all over town and in most of the tour agencies and they´re offering a reward for any information regarding his dissapearance.

We´ve asked around and no one has seen or heard anything, but the good news is that the search continues so where there´s hope, there may be life.

We leave tonight, however, If I hear anything or see anything I´ll update the thread ASAP.
