I am flying to Mexico City via JFK airport in a couple of weeks. I fly to JFK with British Airways and go to Mexico with Aeromexico. I am aware that I need to change terminals but does anyone know how the whole process works with regards to rechecking in my luggage and getting my boarding pass for the onward flight?? Oh and also does AirTrain JFK allow luggage carts as I am travelling with quite alot of luggage!
Thanks!

Hi Nicky, Good idea that you go BA because there will not be as many international flights from other airlines in that terminal so you wont have to wait 2 hours just to get to the imigration guy.
In the USA you must claim your luggage at customs as if you are entering their country to stay but then you just put your bags back into an xray type machine. At least this happened at PHL Philadelphia. Either way you have to get your bags and go to a transfer point.
Then you get the airtrain to your next terminal. There will be people to help you :)

no problems.. You are allowed to take your cart with you. Of course they do charge you something like $3 to rent you a cart at JFK. But its not a bad airport to get around but one of the three worst in the US in terms of delays.
