My girlfriend and I are looking at doing a trip in North America next year. I want to ski all the time, and she wants sun, hence it being an odd sounding trip! We want to start in Vancouver and make our way through (in no real order - haven't got that far yet!) a few ski areas, and on down to some sun....for t'lady!! maybe glacier national park - looks incredible, yellowstone, lake tahoe, maybe a bit of colorado, san francisco, death valley, vegas, and on down to mexico. Not sure if all that will be possible in our 8wk(ish) time frame, but it's a rough idea.
Trying to find out about our travel options, either to buy a car/van, or drive otherpeople's (sedan delivery in the words of Neil young! Sure seems hard to find too!). Not too sure if the latter option is feasible, and can't find anything out about it. What are the rules on buying cars in Canada and taking them through the US, would we be able to sell it? and what hidden extras should we look out for cost-wise. The idea of the trip is to do the travel/accomm as cheap as possible, so we can stay a little longer. Anyone done anything like this and have any suggestions?
Also, very aware that the patch of land we're covering is an enormous expanse, and that I haven't heard of most of it, so does anyone have any must visit places along that route?!
Thanks very much guys.
