Nicolls,
There is a tremendous amount of imformation in the older posts. Go through them and read what has been posted on Thailand. Also worth your time is to click on 'Photography' click Thailand. Start reveiwing the photos posted to get an idea what you want to see while there.

While it may be raining fairly often in monsoon season, it does not rain all day. The plus side of off season is that there are fewer tourists and lower prices for accomodations. Be flexible with your plans and you may still get in plenty of beach time. If Phuket and Samui are wet, Koh Chang maybe OK.

Dont worry about Monsoon. You hv a lot of choices. You can choose islands on the Andaman side or the Gulf of Thailand side.

Go and enjoy yourself. It will rain, but should not ruin your holiday. It is not raining everyday and not all day when it does. Be flexiblle enough in your plans to take advantage of what part of Thailand has the best weather. With cheap internal flights on One Two Go Airlines or Nok Air, plus the overnight buses, you can get around the entire country easily. Have a great time.
