Travel Forums Asia Anyone help? Fly China to Philippines

Dear all, I am looking to fly from China (Kunming or Guiyang airport) to the Philippines (Davao) I beleive the flight should be a little over 4 hours and cost around 300 GBP ($600) return?
But the best deal I have found is a flight which takes 13 hours, costs nearly $1400 and makes two stops at GuangZhou and Hong Kong???

Can anyone help?? It's a little difficult for me only having access to the Baidu website here in China and I know there must be better deals than that!

(It coat me less to fly from the UK to Bangkok)!!!...............................on a further note:- that was a RETURN FLIGHT!!!!!

Thanks in advance.
Paul

Hi,

You can use CebuPacific Airline, a Philipine budget carrier. It's cheap but not bad. You can book online in http://www.cebupacificair.com/ .

Unfortunately, they only have route Guangzhou /Shanghai / Xiamen to Davao and it's direct flight so should be only need 4-5 hours.

You can buy plane tickets the old way, you know, by actually going into a local travel agency and see what they have.

I did a Google search for travel agents in Kunming and lots of hits came back. What have you got to lose to check a couple of these places out? Perhaps the hotel you are staying in can give you some direction for a reliable travel agency.

Good luck.

One way to get to Davao is for you to first fly to Manila from China, then ride the following airlines going to Davao:
1) Air Philippines - 2 flights a day from Manila (MNL) to Davao (DVO); costs around $100. Just check their website (http://www.airphils.com). Im not sure though if you can book online.
2) Cebu Pacific - 4 flights a day from Manila (MNL) to Davao (DVO); costs around $100-120, depending on the availability. You can book online thru their website - http://cebupacificair.com/
3) Philippine Airlines - 6 flights a day from Manila (MNL) to Davao (DVO); costs around $100-150, depending on availability. You can book online, at least 3 days before departure.

Hope this helps!

Hi, that sounds like way too much money to travel to the Philippines. The Philippines has a reliable international budget airline Cebu Pacific (you can search the site on the web), which will have flights from China to either of Manila or Cebu in the Philippines. Alternatively you can take any other airline to Manila. From Cebu or Manila it's a hop away to Davao, which you can take on a number of airlines including: Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, Asian Spirit.

From China to Manila if you can't find a cheap flight on Cebu Pacific you might want to try Air Asia although I'm not sure about this.

Hope that helps and enjoy your visit to sunny Philippines.

The problem is that small airports worldwide are more expensive to use. Cebu only charges $37. (CNY 260.) to go from Guanzhou (Canton) to Davao. China Southern has a flight from Kunming to Guanzhou for $213.
