Getting Vietnamese visa in Bangkok

Travel Forums Asia Getting Vietnamese visa in Bangkok

Hi,

Ok, I've read a lot about getting a visa for Vietnam and come across some conflicting points of view. Basically, I want to know whats the quickest I can get a visa for Vietnam while in Bangkok. On vietnam embassy website it says 1 - 4 days?? I'll probably only have about 2 days in Bangkok, will this be enough time.

also is it better to go to Vietnam embassy myself or just get travel agent to do it for me??

thanks in advance

Hey Mate,

When in Bangkok go straight to a travel agent or even your accomodation an request the Visa asap - i had mine arranged within 48hours - shouldnt be a problem

Definitively have your vise done by a travel agent or your hotel, it's less expensive than through the Vietnamese Embassy.

If your only concern is getting it processed quickly then I'd say go to the Vietnam embassy five (five minutes walk from the MRT stop after Siam and Mo Chit).

I got mine done the next day for 2500 Baht, but the couple in front of me in the queue got theirs processed the same day for 3000 Baht.

Get there early though. If you want it back the same day you have to get your forms/passport handed in early in the morning and then you go back at 4pm to pick it up.

You do have another option; You can get a visa on arrival when flying into VN. It will cost about $55. Less than getting 1 & 2 day service from the VN embassy in BKK. Try here and see if it makes sense to do it this way. I have done it and it is very straight forward. Send me a PM if you have questions.
