Really sandy - you must think us dumb travellers were born yesterday!

No, it's working on assignment (though possibly for someone who is indeed writing a book). In one of its earlier threads, it referenced "the following interest criteria", which no one working for their own purpose would ever do; that's something you only write when giving an assignment to someone else, and "sandy" then blindly copied it when going to spam its few dozen chosen forums.

Ah - someone got sloppy...

Looking at the North America threads (yes, T - same Sandy), they weren't just compiling a list but (supposedly) already in Montreal or going to be spending X amount of time in Quebec City. Most of the earlier threads were "Such & Such A Place, Off the Beaten Track. (Rhode Island, Boston, Maine, New York, Manhattan, Montreal, New Foundland, Nova Scotia, etc.) Seems "Sandy" discovered TP's potential for information, at least for North America, around May 16, 2007. We've really done quite a bit of work for the "ol' gal".

This might give us a clue as to what "Sandy" has been up to with all of these inquiries...

Could we create a new title 'disgraced member' for this TPer?

Ah-ha! Little bugger finally gave himself away. I'm still annoyed at having spent time looking up all kinds of info about the Saguenay for him, only to realize it was probably going to be used to further some money-making venture or other.

I don't know if the laziness, the lying or the arrogance will come round to bite him in the a**, but someone bring a camera.

Just a bit a of a head's up... Sandy 456 is back in action in the Europe Forum.

London's most useful websites:
What is the cheapest, chain supermarket in London?
What traveler only shops at cheap chain grocery stores?
World traveler arriving on a one-way to Luton airport

I still agree that Sandy is on a paid hunting expedition for information. He seems to go back into the shadows each time there's attention drawn to his posting style. When the coast appears to be clear - pop - there's Sandy back to his old ways.

I would not mind Sandy if she was a bit more sociable.
She tells us her requirements and then tells us not to respond unless we have the answers. And if she is writing a guide book which she wants us to help with she could at least be nice enough to offer to share the information with us or anything at all that shows she appreciates our help. H*ll, if she even thanked us now and again......
I dont mind giving people information but there are some people who make me feel used. #

Maybe she could be allowed to trawl here for information on condition that she makes substantial updates to the Wiki with her findings?

According to this phrase used by Sandy, I guess she is actually a he, unless 'she' is talking about some private parts

I am young, olive skin, clean shaven, travel alone, say that I work as a freelance travel writer, and was born in Iran, though maintain Cdn citizenship.

If you're going to make up stories about how I'm a fake, commercial travel writer using forums to make a book without any proof, and then smear my name' then it's better if I don't post here at all.

So, what's wrong with this picture? Says they are a freelance travel writer but denies being a travel writer? Or, is it just that it's not for a book? Maybe a freelance travel writer who doesn't get paid...

By the way, I noticed Sandy456 is a Respected Member...
And the only thing he/she did was asking questions: no answers, no photos, no blogs, no nothing. Haven't checked the guide though, but that seems out of the question.

So, how is that possible?

Well, unlike most regulars here, none of his 200 posts is in Off-topic forum. :) And I believe at least 90% of his post are thread starters.
