And dont get me started on brussels sprouts they are also putrid devils food.

Brussel sprouts are just little bite-sized cabbages. Yum!!!

When you say "minced pies" - what does that entail??? Is that like the traditional mincemeat pies? Never had one. Or, is it more like a pot pie made with mincemeat (hamburger, vegies and gravy)? Love those.

Its a sweet meat inside a pastry usually dusted in icing sugar... TAKE A LOOK HERE.

Dont listen to these mad people Isa they are disgusting.

I like cabbage fried up maybe with some onions or the like to give it some taste - brussel sprouts - are heinous.

Yup - that's the mince pie I thought you were talking about - never tried it. Basically, it's just dried fruit mixed with suet (rendered beef/port fat) and put in pastry. Oh, and all mixed together with booze so you don't pay attention to what you are eating. Sort of like classic fruit cake. Novel concept. (I don't care for dried fruit.)

Sorry - love brussel sprouts but I understand. I have the same feelings about beets and peas.

By the way, what's with the Brits with the dried fruit, booze and suet thing?? I made Christmas pudding one year because I received the charms (to tuck inside it) as a gift and wanted to use them. I didn't hang it for weeks to "enhance the flavor" but it was horrid. It looked like the pictures though you could have killed someone if you'd thrown it at them. I now understand why the Pilgrims left and we celebrate Thanksgiving. We're all thankful we don't have to eat mince pie or Christmas pudding.

Mince pies as in mincemeat as in raisins? Pure evil!!! The only thing worse would be mushroom pies.

But no, I would not rather eat my own vomit.

Those would be the ones.

Ooohhhhhh - forgot about mushrooms - how do they get slime to hold that shape??? Yucky things!

They remind some of us of our Mamas cooking.

They taste good. That's what makes them so amazing.

I used to love brussel sprouts but I went through a phase of eating lots of vegetables and had a massive bowl of them one night for dinner. I was as sick as a dog (PS I did not eat the vomit). Now I can't stand sprouts.

What's wrong with mushrooms??? They're delicious - and only a few calories each!

Anyway, the point is, mince pies are amazing.

Mikey you really need to get out more - Mince Pies are NOT amazing - watching the sunrise on a deserted beach with someone you love having not gone to bed is amazing - mince pies are not.

Obviously you're entitled to your opinion, but your opinion in my opinion in just wrong!
