Being the pessimist that I am, I thought this was necessary to provide balance to Clarabell's "What made you smile today?" thread.

I got stopped by the police this morning who were doing "random winter checks" - basically checking my tires, windscreen wipers, lights etc. As a result I was late for work (still managed to find time to get on TP).

Surely the police have better things to do with my tax money. I mean, there are murderers and drug dealers walking the streets but they feel the need to ensure that my car has plenty of windscreen wash.

That for some strange reason the weeks before Christmas are always busier at work.

Everyone wants to have their work done, like there will be no 2008 or something. And then if the work is done before Christmas, what then? The people who want the work to be done are on holidays for 2 weeks and don't read or see anything.
It is a sad world when it comes down to work, career, money and materialism.
My motto: don't do anything today when it can be done later as well. That does not apply to alcohol, s*x and travel though

Did u ever have somebody who insists on helping u with problems u dont have?
Well I have one of those. It is like they invent a problem u never noticed u had and insist on questioning u mercilessly about it.
And how do I politely tell such a person to f*ck off They are only trying to be helpful afterall.

Just about losing my purse and my arm in the Metro this morning. Bloody people in a rush - I can't move out of the way left AND right at the same time!

But a nice guy with an Expos hat squatted down to talk to me about Kurt Vonnegut (I'm reading "A man Without a Country"), so that was nice. Oops! Maybe I'm posting this bit in the wrong thread.

Yes, generally such persons are called bosses or managers. Or better: s*xless bosses and managers

s*xless

All annoying and interfering pests have this in common.
They are not getting s£x and there is generally no chance of them getting any.
I frown about this catch 22.
