Hi Guys,

Well to cut a long story short was planning my travels earlier in the year then shelved my plans, decided money and career was too important to give up and tried to forget all about travelling.....

Thankfully, I saw the errors of my ways.... hated the new job and have jacked it in today (after only 5 weeks!!!!). So back to the original plan.... spending a few months in Oz... relax, travel, have fun and when I'm ready, come home via South East Asia.

AND I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Only one problem, I haven't yet booked flights and I plan to leave on say 7 Jan!!! I am going to book flights this friday I think. I'm planning on flying into Sydney on 7th jan and then flying out of perth in early may to singapore then up thru thailand and then home.....

Was gonna try STA travel, flight centre and Trailfinders. Can anyone recommend any other agents or should I go direct to airline.... I've flown to Oz before with Brunei (rubbish), Singapore (excellent) and Air New Zealand (excellent).

Also, I'm planning on booking first week at Wake Up in Sydney.... anyone else there at that time? Or can anyone recommend a better hostel?

Thanks guys!

Wilko

Good luck with your flights - I went thru STA and just booked it, we had a bit of a shop around at the time and theres was about the same price as the airline and just easier. I don't know if there are last minute cheaper deals or anything?

I also stayed at Wake Up in Sydney. It was a brilliant hostel, I highly recommend it. It was a bit more expensive than some of the others however, I stayed there 4 nights and couldn't afford to stay any longer, so then I moved down the road to the George Street which classed itself as a budget hotel but was really a hostel. That one was ok too, not as exciting as the Wake Up but clean and a bit cheaper!

Have fun, I hope it works out for you

wow good luck.
not that you need it you will have a blast.
tip: avoid the hostels around bondi beach, theyre over priced over crowded and rarely clean.
