Anyone make trifle? I've never had a real one.

Now, the Christmas decorations are coming along fine, but I can't seem to get the lights to flash to Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree and the reindeer keep getting at the martinis.

Damn - I forgot to make trifle. Well, hopefully someone will bring one for you, T. Since I couldn't find any of the other guests, I have managed to unload everything by myself. Hope you didn't mind the wait...

The buffet table is now restocked so please form an orderly line (hard to do after so many cocktails, I know). We have puffed cheese pastries, rumake, mini spinach quiches, cocktail weenies in sweet/sour BBQ sauce, roasted peppers/sundried tomato dip with brochetta, artichoke tarts and oysters casino for appetizers. Next in line is the Caesar salad, lasagna (meat & veggie versions), creole jambalaya, cat ala king (at Tway's request), duck confit, fettuchini alfredo, black bean enchilladas, smoked trout, cabbage rolls, Guinness beef stew and an assortment of crusty breads. Towards the end of the table, you will find the desserts including several varieties of pie (mince, pumpkin, apple, black cherry, key lime and banana cream), an assortment of cookies and a beautiful bouche de noelle. Bon Appetit!!!!!!

An exhausted Isa leaves to find Lagered and that line-up of martinis...

As long as mince pies are off the list!

Wheres the mistletoe stashed? We have to get it in place for James & Mel's arrival!

You don't have to eat the mince pie, Purdy. But, I have included it in the selection for those who "think it's lovely stuff". There are several others from which to make your choice.

I think T is in charge of the mistletoe since she's also battling with the drunken reindeer and the "Rock Around the Christmas Tree"blinky lights. She'd better hurry up though because I think I hear James' footsteps in the not too far away distance. Who's decking the halls with holly? Whoever it is, be careful. That stuff can poke your eye out when you're not looking.

Isa now leaves again to continue her search for Lagered and those illusive martinis...

The mistletoe has been eaten by Blixen, who found Lagered and the missing martinis and then caught a case of the munchies. I'm going to improvise with a potted fern, but make sure the person you meet under the greenery knows your intentions first. I've only so many band-aids to go around!

As for the menu, I have some brioches, stew, baguette, olives, and a terribly stinky cheese leftover from last night. I'll bring them along, but the cheese has to stay seperate - at least 5 feet away. It's horrid stuff!

Anyone care to help decorate the "Congratulations Mel and james!" hall? I was thinking a nice gnome theme with pictures of their love child for good measure. ;)

Here I am! I promise to only poke in all the right places...no eyes! of course, after all that eggnog, liberally laced with Maker's Mark, and Lagered's martinis, watch out!

Count me in!!! Maybe we can get the Gnorman & The Gnomads band to play Christmas music. They do great renditions of "Deck the Halls" and "What Child is This". Oooooohhhh, it's all coming together nicely!!!!

Excellent!!!! Mmmmmm - Maker's Mark!!

Would someone please put the reindeer back in the paddock as they are wreaking havoc everywhere! Lagered's been mauled, though I think he rather enjoyed it. He had a sheepish grin on his face afterward... They are also raiding the buffet table faster than we can keep it refilled.

Isa wanders off to help T decorate the hall and see if Gnorman and the boys are available...

Who is playing Father Christmas - or do we have the real one coming this year??????

Also is anyone taking the Christmas Wish Lists - l have mine with me today - its only 15 pages long

Oh and if anyone is interested - lm starting choir practice shortly in the vestibule of the main hall - l would appreciate some baritones and base singers. Actually - l just would appreciate some singers to form a choir - otherwise l will hit the martinis and it will be Purdy's One Woman Karaoke Show (actually that sounds pretty good)

Also suggestions for which Christmas Carols you would like better come to me soon - otherwise it will a rendition of Sir Cliff Richards all time greatest Christmas hits (Oh and In the Bleak Mid Winter - just cos thats my fav!)

Am I late for the karaoke caroling choir practice?????

I brought along a list of songs... Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer, Reggae Christmas Eve In Transylvania, Leroy The Redneck Reindeer, Santa Claus Got Stuck In The Chimney, Frosty The Dope Man, Yellow Snow Yellow Snow Yellow Snow, Holy Shit It's Christmas, It's Christmas And I Wonder Where I Am, All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth. Will those do or are we going for the classics?

I have my Christmas Wish List!!! Okay - it's equal to the national debt but it's all the things I really, really, really need this year!!!

Isa wanders off to the vestibule - otherwise known as the cocktail weenie and martini bar.

Is there dancing girls at the party? Guinness?
Oh, and is it in a hot and sunny place?
