I caught a virus while travelling through South East Asia and was wondering if any one had any advice as all the doctors keep saying is rest but its been six months and I still get headaches and dizziness. I would be grateful for any advice especially from fellow travellers who might have caught something similar along the way.
You should get a test for malaria immediately, and don't take no for an answer.
Hopefully, it's nothing, but you need to get it sorted.
Are you going to forest while travel in southeast asia, you shoud test for malaria. You will consult with doctor near by you.
Hope it's better recently
hi Dan i kno what your going through, Iv come back from the dominican Republic after a hellish 2 weeks of being ill, then upon my coming back i was rushed into hospital and had every test you can think of, it wasn't very pleasant. The worrying thing is every test came up as negative they said nothing was wrong with me but there obviously was as I was nearly knocking on death's door or at least it felt like it. Im back home now still not knowing what I had all I know i that I maybe picked up a virus from my travells and it attacked every organ in my body but like i said still; no1 knows what it was and i was told by the doctors that i should be careful for it coming back-im not too excited bout the thought of that but at least im ok now.
Anyway i do think you should get checked out for malaria and maybe the doctors can solve ur mystery illness and I hope your ok. xx
Oh ye dan i forgot to tell you, you must do everything you can to get a specialist to see you, I went to 5 doctors before i was admitted to hospital and each told me i had something different so you must get it sorted and tell them its been 6 months and no change and your worried.
