Sapa overnight treks - especially beds

Travel Forums Asia Sapa overnight treks - especially beds

We are thinking of getting a guide in Sapa to trek and overnight in Ta Van, Ban Ho and/or Ta Phin. We have older backs & after a days walk may find sleeping on boards or dirt too much.
1. Do any of the home stays at these vilages have real beds - maybe even comfortable real beds?
2. Are these villages of equal interest for the typical traveller?
3. Is the trek south via Cat Cat, Lao Chai & Ta Van different/better than that north via Ta Phin?
4. Any other recommendations

Also has anyone info re hiring a car or jeep (for 4 of us) to return to Naoi from Sapa or Lao Cai overnighting in somewhere like Lai Chau and/or Son La
